One day, I decided to embark on a journey, a solitary drive across the cities of my homeland.
As I passed through the roads of Iran, something resurfaced:
a quiet obsession I had carried since childhood.
And so, I began long journeys across my homeland, east, north, and south. I sought out everything that lingered in my childhood memories and photographed them as if preserving keepsakes of the road.
But before I could complete this journey, I was forced to leave my country. Now these photographs are what make my heart ache for Iran, more than any person or place. Above all, they remind me how deeply I long for my homeland.
After some time, I began to shape this body of work, and I named it Between Miles.
