Mechelen, My Quiet Home

Mechelen was the first place I returned to after five years away from Europe.
Every day, I found joy in its beauty. The city is full of narrow, old alleyways, especially magical at sunset, when walking through them feels like stepping into a dream.

My love was there, and the city became a symbol of love for me. Away from the noise of bigger cities, Mechelen offered a quiet that kept pulling me back. No matter how far I go, I always find myself longing for its mornings. I would wake up early, lacing up my shoes for a run through the town and its surroundings. And somehow, I never got tired, because I wasn’t just running, I was exploring. The beauty of this place stretches into every corner, and in Mechelen, I felt completely at peace.

These photos are a tribute to Mechelen, the city where, after all this time, I was able to find my first real home.
Now, it’s not just a place I visited. It’s where I live.
